First Minister Nicola Sturgeon MSP and Finance Minister Derek MacKay MSP, today visited Aquilla BioMedical, a start-up company based at Nine, Edinburgh BioQuarter’s commercial bio incubator facility.
Aquila BioMedical has its roots within the University of Edinburgh and is a start-up which was founded in 2011. Aquilla is a great example of the collaborative environment offered at Edinburgh BioQuarter - where the company works regularly with the Centre for Regenerative Medicine and NHS Lothian in offering world leading research in Immuno-oncology, Immunol ogy and Multiplex Histology.
First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon said: “Aquilla is a shining example of the strength of our life sciences sector. Scotland has a number of competitive advantages in this area and that’s why the Scottish Government, along with Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise are so focused on making sure we build on those competitive advantages.”
